Car Fire on KC Campus

A car caught fire on KC campus at approximately 9:15 in front of the Science building and library. No injuries were reported

Nathan Watson, sophomore History major and car owner, said what caused the fire today on KC campus was “a battery in a flashlight that was under my backseat next to a first-aid kit that had alcohol wipes in it.”

Watson said KCPD officer arrived on scene and a fire extinguisher was ineffective. Minutes later, the Kilgore Fire Dept. showed up and got the fire under control. Watson praised “their rapid response.”
