.
Nathan Watson, sophomore History major and car owner, said what caused the fire today on KC campus was “a battery in a flashlight that was under my backseat next to a first-aid kit that had alcohol wipes in it.”
Watson said KCPD officer arrived on scene and a fire extinguisher was ineffective. Minutes later, the Kilgore Fire Dept. showed up and got the fire under control. Watson praised “their rapid response.”
