Deadline is fast approaching for the graduates this May. The excitement of it all can overshadow one of the important requirements many students over look. “Surprisingly students end up not ready to graduate” said Pam Gatton in counseling,
Many students fail to realize that the computer competency test must be completed in order to graduate on time.
Students must earn a grade of C or higher in an approved computer competency course such as BCIS 1305 or a grade of 70 on the test, either will work. The course should be completed no later than the completion of 24 semester credit hours.
The test costs $35.00 and must be paid before the test can be scheduled. Visit the KC Cashier’s office for payment. A payment receipt, registration form and valid photo ID are necessary at the appointed test time.
Retesting is available after two weeks. Testing hours are available Monday through Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the KC testing center located in the Devall Student Center. A total of ten different options are available ranging in: Access; Excel; Graphics; Word; and Power point.
