Ex-student faces stark reality

Staff Writer

Former KC student Bryan Simmons was found guilty of Felony Criminal Mischief  in 188th District Court Oct. 1.

KCPD arrested Simmons last fall after he became a suspect in a situation in Stark Hall. A toilet in the restroom on the eighth floor was kicked repeatedly until the water pipe broke from the wall,  causing extensive flooding to the building and resulting in severe damage to the elevator, electrical systems and structures in the building.

KCPD Chief Martin Pessink said, “He [Simmons] was sentenced to complete five years’ probation which will be extended until he pays restitution to the college in the amount of $20,000.”

Simmons must also pay court costs and probation fees.
