At around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, KCPD officer Travis Kirby responded to a report of gun shots heard near R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium at the intersection of Martin and Harris streets. The shooting was in reference to an apparent domestic dispute. Kirby made an arrest on the scene when he found a shotgun in the suspect’s  vehicle and then Kilgore Police Department assumed control of the investigation.

No one received injury “by divine intervention,” according to Martin Pessink KCPD chief.

The suspect, Marc Mathison, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
